Michael Burnyeat
BC Fiddle Champion Michael Burnyeat has been gaining momentum as an incredibly talented and skilled fiddler based on the west coast. He has consistently been a session leader at the Jericho Folk Club for years, tours with the Irish Wakers, is the founder of the UBC fiddle club, and plays in the UBC Chamber Orchestra. Often the quieter one of the group, when you put a fiddle in his hands, a whole other side of him is revealed!
Catherine Ho
Having a background singing in choral groups and instructing piano, Catherine Ho brings her highly skilled ear, often being able to harmonize to almost anything on the spot. She has over 20 years experience playing music. She spent her early childhood living in China and then lived in the UK from age 11 to 18. During those years, she was exposed to a variety of traditional celtic music. She later moved to the USA and then Canada. Most people who meet her describe her as having a radiating personality that truly shines on and off stage.
Mehlinda Heart
Mehlinda Heartt is a Professionally recognized Vancouver Harpist who has played for over 35 years, with thousands of performances to her name. She is also a Composer, Arranger and Publisher of Harp music with ‘Avalon Music Press,’ and she has been recorded on several artists albums. Many of her compositions are of the world music genre with special attention to Celtic music compositions. She was a winner in the 2009 American Harp Societies composers competition. Mehlinda also has a harp choir that performs at various concerts throughout the year. You can also see her or her Harp choir perform at Granville island on occasion. Mehlinda teaches Harp privately, and also at the Celtic Traditions School of Music.
Bob Collins
Bob has been playing music since he was a wee lad. He is originally from Newfoundland and plays a ton of traditonal East Coast and celtic tunes. He has toured with fiddler Jocelyn Petite and plays regularly at festivals and pubs in Vancouver. He is a joy to bring out to any event either as a solo artist singing and playing guitar or accompanying fiddlers and vocalists.
